24x30 pencil and charcoal

Finally got around to finishing my drawing of George.  He'll be 90 years old soon - he sure doesn't look it!

Work in Progress

Working on George now.  He was very relaxed.  He's an interesting person to draw - and he's easy to do too. He'll be 90yrs old in a couple of months.

My biggest problem will be putting the chair in.  I don't like putting in backgrounds, furniture, etc. but he is leaning against his chair, so I'd better include it.

Work in Progress

Got to work on my "Jamie in cow hat" drawing today for a bit - its coming along.  Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow because on Tuesday I have an appointment with a wonderful couple - I'm going to take their photos for future drawings.  She is an artist, so the posing part should work out - now its just up to me to take some half decent photos.

Yorkton This Week Photo

It was nice of the Yorkton This Week to put in a photo of the Gallery Reception.

Lynn Strendin, left, greets guests during the official opening of her exhibition, the first of 2014, at pARTners Gallery in the Yorkton Public Library. The collection of pencil and charcoal portraits of everyday people is showing until the end of January.

There were about 25 people in attendance - pretty good attendance for such a cold day!

Pencil Paparazzi Reception

Thank you to all who braved this crazy crazy weather and came out to the Pencil Paparazzi Reception today.  (For anyone who had planned on coming but didn't because of the weather - I completely understand!)

Work in progress

By popular demand...  people apparently want to see Jamie with the cow hat - so I started on it tonight.

Well, I guess if you have a cow hat - you should wear it - and how can I really not draw it??

Jamie is so much fun to draw.  I hope this turns out.
